LIGHTYEARS PRESENTS CARAVAGGIO READ

Caravaggio Read is a new addition to designer Cecilie Manz’ iconic Caravaggio series for Danish lighting manufacturer Lightyears. Based on the wall lamp’s adjustable shade, Manz has created a whole new universe of Caravaggio lamps with functional, directional light.

The Caravaggio light has been known and loved since Cecilie Manz designed the first four pendants back in 2005, the same year as Lightyears was founded. With her exceptional flair for function and minimalist aesthetics, Cecilie Manz has developed the Caravaggio collection over the last decade with the introduction of new designs, sizes and finishes to the range. The new Caravaggio Read series includes 12 lamps across table, floor and wall categories in black, white, light grey matt lacquering and hand-blown opal glass.

Caravaggio Read makes the perfect task light with its flexibility and intimate light source. It features the classic Caravaggio lamp shade installed on a flexible pipe that offers adjustable lighting. The wall lamp can rotate 180 degrees around its own axis, and the floor and table lamps can rotate up to an impressive 260 degrees. The small diameter of the base makes it easy to position the lamp. In this way, the table lamp may stand in the window frame or on a shelf, whereas the floor lamp can be pulled all the way to the sofa and provide you with light exactly where you need it.

Moreover, Caravaggio Read is fitted with a 3-step touch control dimmer on the stand for adjustment of the light intensity. The switch is placed discreetly at the bottom of the wall bracket, making it easily accessible.

All lamps have three narrow slits at the top of the shade that allow light to pass through. The metal lamps give a soft and targeted light, while the opal lamps sends out a warm and diffused light.

Caravaggio Read has been released at Stockholm Furniture & Lighting Fair in February and will be available at designFARM in late 2016.
