GLOSS was the first Dowel Jones event in WA and the first collaboration between Dowel Jones and designFARM.
GLOSS featured a smashing DJ set from Scarlett Stevens of San Cisco, make up artists from TXC Collective giving guests a glossy look, the legends from Short Order were pumping out delicious glossy burgers and guests also enjoyed glossy Krispy Kreme donuts, wines from Blind Corner and beer from Rocky Ridge Brewing. Hundreds attended on the night and we were thrilled to see so many familiar faces and new faces in the crowd!
Corrugated sheeting, fake palms and real palms, rough cast plaster finished plinths, recycled polystyrene formations and vertical blinds filled Whitespace Gallery in Fremantle. Multicoloured lighting was refracted by materials, shapes and forms bouncing off the walls and floors to illuminate a series of Dowel Jones furniture installations. Each installation featured key pieces from the current collection including the Hurdle Family, Thimble Stools, Bradley Hooper Tables, the Sister Lounge and recently released Sister Double Lounge.
