[MILAN ’16] HAY AT THE PELOTA
Always mastering the element of surprise, HAY has transformed La Pelota in the Brera district into a multi-room installation, showcasing existing pieces in new finishes alongside brand-new designs.
Just a few steps from Corso Garibaldi, La Pelota is an impressive 2,000 sqm scene with high ceilings and rich finishes. Unlike previous exhibitors that have built volumnous vertical installations, HAY chose to do the exact opposite for their presentation at Milan Design Week 2016. Levelling the space with a maze of ten independent rooms connected by staircases, HAY presents a fresh curation and immersive experience for visitors at La Pelota.
Set in this exhibition space, the HAY installation features new products from Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Stefan Diez, Scholten & Baijings, Doshi Levien, Iskos-Berlin and Shane Schneck. Products range from furniture to textiles, stationery and home accessories.
As a key feature of the installation, an edited selection of products are sold in the HAY Mini Market; an on-site shop that allows visitors to purchase HAY accessories and textiles as well as a curated selection of finds from around the world.
Within the exhibition, HAY also launches wrong.london – a full collection of new lighting designed in collaboration with Pierre Charpin, Johan van Hengel, Stefan Diez, Lars Beller Fjetland, Joel Hoff, Smith, Matthias and Bertjan Pot.
