The iconic Spanish Chair designed by Børge Mogensen in 1958 celebrates it’s 60th anniversary this year.
To coincide with the occasion, Fredericia, who have manufactured the Spanish chair since 1958 have launched a limited edition Spanish Chair in a truly stunning combination of solid oak and olive green saddle leather.
To honour Børge Mogensen’s work, Fredericia searched the master’s archive and discovered this subtle, natural colour, which was one of his most loved hues and one of the dominating interior colours at the time.
Now, and for the first time ever, the Spanish Chair is available in this modern mid-century colour marking 60 years of impeccable craftsmanship and cutting edge design. To celebrate this special anniversary, Fredericia invited Børge Mogensen’s grandson, renowned fashion photographer Rasmus Mogensen, to portrait himself with the masterpiece created by his granddad in 1958.

The Spanish Chair Special Edition is available to order until 31 December 2018.
About Børge Mogensen
Børge Mogensen (1914-1972) was one of the most influential designers in shaping Danish Modern design and present day Fredericia’s founding designer from 1955 until his death in 1972. He found inspiration all over the world in his quest to create everyday objects that would endure for generations.
Børge Mogensen was one of the pioneers that created the foundation for the Danish Design as a culture of furniture design. His life-long ambition was to create durable and useful furniture that would enrich people’s everyday lives, and he designed functional furniture for all parts of the home and society.
