Atilla Kuzu

Atilla Kuzu graduated in 1987 from Marmara University’s Faculty of Fine Arts, where he studied Industrial Design with a focus on interior design. In 1994, he co-founded Zoom / TPU (Design Project and Implementation) with Levent Çırpıcı. That same year, Kuzu was a finalist in the IFDA’s “Design with Love, Love with Wood” competition in Japan with his design “Taklamakan” and was also named among the top 30 designers with his piece “From Alaska to Barringer.”

In 2001, Kuzu’s Figen-Servet Yazıcı House project was nominated for the prestigious Aga Khan Architecture Awards. Between 2009 and 2011, he was a finalist in the WAF Awards for his work on the Maslak Acıbadem Hospital and Liv Ulus Hospital projects.

In 2010, 2011, and 2015, Yapı-Turkeybuild awarded Kuzu first place for his fair stand projects. In 2010, he designed the “Atilla Series,” a collection of six products for Conde House, and his “Open” series for Intema earned the Elle Decor International Award for “Best Kitchen Design.”

Kuzu received the “Good Design” award in 2011 for his “Angle Table” with 888 Design and was named “Designer of the Year” by Elle Decor Turkey at the Edida Awards. That same year, his “Fluido” design for Intema Kitchen won first prize for Best Kitchen at the Elle Decoration International Design Awards.

In 2015, Kuzu’s “Mantis” design earned a Red Dot Design Award in the concept furniture design category. In 2016, “Mantis” also won the Elle Decor International Design Award for “Best Lighting Design,” and Kuzu was once again named “Designer of the Year” by Elle Decor. He continues to work in furniture design as well as interior design and architectural projects.
