Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Ben McCarthy studied Industrial Design at UNSW before moving to London to work at Tom Dixon’s design studio. He then relocated to Hong Kong and has recently returned to Sydney.
Currently, he operates in several capacities: as an independent industrial designer for a select range of global clients, as Head of Design at Michael Young Limited, and as a maker of unique furniture, art pieces, and installations.
His work has garnered numerous global design awards, including Red Dot, IF Awards, Good Design, and German Design Awards. It has been showcased in both group exhibitions and solo shows worldwide, and he has been involved in multiple patent registrations.
