Emiliana Design Studio

“We usually work in projects that require a certain degree of challenge. Whatever it may be – an industrial product, a unique piece, a space or an exhibition – we always face projects with generosity and high enthusiasm, and of course with the maximum technical rigour.”

Emiliana Design Studio was founded in the late 90s by Ana Mir and Emili Padrós, shortly after they completed their MA in Design at London’s Central Saint Martins School of Art & Design. From the start, the studio has been known for its multidisciplinary approach to design, enabling it to build a rich, diverse, and robust career.

Central to Emiliana’s projects are conceptual depth, historical and socio-cultural research, material experimentation, attention to detail, exploration of new typologies, active user involvement, a search for poetic gestures, and a distinctive sense of humor.

Their designs, concepts, and ideas have been featured in exhibitions across New York, Milan, Turin, Paris, Madrid, Tokyo, Sydney, Amsterdam, and more. Some of their pieces are included in permanent collections at FNAC (Fond National d’Art Contemporain, France), the Museum of Art in Indianapolis (USA), and the Museum of Design in Barcelona.

Ana Mir and Emili Padrós have also contributed to notable exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, including “Design and the Elastic Mind” (2008) and “Safe Design: Takes on Risk” (2006).
