Arquimaña, founded by Iñaki Albistur and Raquel Ares, is an architecture and design studio that believes in a dynamic architecture—one that adapts, interacts with the user, and uses technology as a means for greater freedom and self-sufficiency.
Since 2011, Arquimaña has operated its own digital manufacturing workshop, pioneering this approach in the Basque Country. They have revived the traditional concept of an urban workshop, now equipped with accessible 21st-century technology.
By blending desktop publishing, craftsmanship, research, and technology, Arquimaña delivers creative, efficient, and personalized solutions. Their work has been recognized as a finalist in the Peña Ganchegui Awards for Young Basque Architecture and cataloged by Arquia/Próxima, also achieving finalist status at the Arquia/Próxima 2018 festival: Relevant Practices.
Arquimaña was selected to represent in the Spanish Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2021 and featured in the “Thematic & Cities” exhibition at the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism SBAU 2021.
